Nothing memorable in this one at all. It's a terrible attempt at making a Nightmare on Elm St type film there is even a scene where the characters go to the W Craven Mental Asylum , but the movie absolutely fails to follow any sort of logic.
Nothing makes any sense at all, the characters are horrible and acted by atrociously awful actresses. Nothing in this movie was good or creative or suspenseful at all.
It was so stupid that I feel like I am now dumber after watching it. Not worth anyone's time. I like the idea that someone wanted to make a new slasher monster.
That alone makes rather happy. The premise, on the other hand, is a bit silly. To have a monster attack you via water?
There was water in this movie where water shouldn't be or this group of people has never heard of water conservation.
Once I was able to get past the silliness of everything and just accept the movie for what it was I rather enjoyed it. It could have been a whole lot better it has does have some excellent moments.

A boogeyman who materialises through puddles and running water, dragging his victims into a nightmare realm of liquid based torment, a sort of supernatural waterboarding if you like.
Frankly, I found the central premise so idiotic I spent most of my time pondering the fact that if the heroine of the piece had such a feverish phobia of water, she must have serious personal hygeine issues, which nobody seems to notice.
So oddly here's a movie which seems to have an aversion to bathing and cleanliness - could it possibly be the first pro-crusty horror film?

Yes, the killer looks like a bad Sigmund and the Sea Monsters cosplay but the film is super cool and suspenseful and manages to build a nice mythology in just or-so minutes.
Just to hang? Well made - but ultimately just po-faced derivative rubbish. The star begrudgingly given is for the effort by the cast.
It's a pretty cool film concept, which they make work well. It isn't scary at all, at least not to me, but I was interested and satisfied the whole way through.

Realised I had seen at least some of it so switched it off, which was probably what I did the first time. Okay I'm jumping way ahead on the reviewing every movie I watch thing, but I'm way behind, just haven't had the time, been out every night the past few weeks, and etc.
So I'm just gonna do highlights from now on. This movie is not a highlight however. The Drownsman shouldn't even exist. It's crazy to me that it does.
