Armstrong, however, interviews Alice instead and the subsequent article is published to success, resulting in Philip making amends with his mother.

Charles requests a meeting with his mother, hoping for appreciation or even some affection, but receives neither and instead is rebuked that he must remain impartial and should suppress his opinions.

Charles returns to acting in a play at Cambridge, where Anne is among the audience. Amid the first moon landing , Prince Philip feels dissatisfied with his lack of achievement and searches for inspiration.

Over the past few months we have been sat eagerly waiting for more details about The Crown season 3 and devouring pictures emerging from the filming of the show.

And it isn't just old favourites returning to our screens. This series of the critically-acclaimed Netflix drama will follow the pattern set by the first two seasons, which took place from to and to It seems that season three will shine more of a light on the younger members of the family too: the royal couple's children.

Here are a few details including a couple of spoilers about what we can expect to see and when we can expect to see them. Sadly although we have new information about the start date we haven't got a full trailer just yet.

Netflix released a first-look teaser of the new actress in the role, with a still of her sipping tea while wearing the Queen's signature powder-pink suit and her famous pearls.

Adding to the superstar casting, Helena Bonham Carter will take on the role of Princess Margaret, who was previously played by Vanessa Kirby. Vanessa Kirby expressed her excitement about her successor on Instagram with a cute smiley snap of Helena Bonham Carter captioned, "Honoured".

Gillian Anderson is rumoured to be playing Thatcher throughout and when the fourth run of the series will take place.
