The exterior shots of the Tyrell Corp. The street views come to life in a way I've never seen before, and because the image is so clear and sharp there's so much more detail to be seen.
The one strange issue I had was in the opening sequence, my TV had some dark black spots along the bottom of the screen when the fires flared during the overhead shot of Los Angeles, November I haven't seen any other reviews that mention this bizarre image problem, and I strongly suspect it may be a symptom of my cheap 4K TV's incompatibility with HDR.
The most important thing though is that this is faithful to the film. It looks like it was shot on film, and it doesn't look glossy and digitized. The whole point of 4K is to get a natural appearance that's as close to the film print as possible.
However, from other reviews I've seen online, the HDR combined with the 4K elements means that this movie will probably never look superior to this version.
Assuming the 4K Blu-Ray format never dies, this may be the last version of the movie I may ever buy again.
The only thing missing is extras. There are extras that were included on the 30th anniversary edition assembled in that aren't on this one, and that means that there will probably be an "Ultimate 4K Edition" down the road that not only includes the gorgeous 4K version, but all the extras that will truly put the complete Blade Runner experience in one package.

There's a little toy included bit of a gimmick really, but it sets this presentation box set apart from previous ones. There's several versions of the main feature here, but the one to watch of course is the very final yes, final director's cut version.
In Blu-ray it's absolutely stunning I'm quite new to Blu-ray and HD TV, so forgive my unbounded joy here especially if you watch it in a dark room, with the sound fed through your hi-fi into good quality closed back headphones the only way to enjoy films at home, in my opinion.
There's a load of extra material which takes up another several hours of viewing time I did that over a few days, I must confess.
It's fascinating to see how the original was cleaned up and tiny bits of one or two scenes were even re-shot many years later, to be edited into the final cut.

I stick to this Blue Ray release as there's no point talking about the film itself apart from its the seminal influential science fiction classic and if you haven't seen it yet then where have you been?
The addition of the spinner police car model is a nice touch in this boxed version. Watching it took me right back to when I saw this movie for the first time, in that the picture quality is superb.
The films seminal opening sequence is made as breathtaking as I remember it from watching it in the cinema and the sound quality is excellent, highlighting and enhancing scenes throughout the movie.
The other discs include the original film release which was a studio butchered version of Ridley Scott's vision. His original directors cut release and the fourth disc is a ' working print'.
This last version is the film in 'progress ', a print shown to studio execs and test audiences so it's quality in picture and sound is a bit rough, but it gives a fascinating insight into the film making process as it has subtle differences to the final print.
This alone if your like myself a true fan of this film, coupled with the Blue Ray version makes the cost of this box set worthwhile.
Add in the two other versions, making of documentary the model, makes it a must have. One person found this helpful.

Packaging a bit flimsy and random art-work. The 'Spinner' model car is only slightly better quality than what you may expect to find from a Kinder Egg.
There's a rushed to print book of archive material, not enough to get excited about and all from material you can find in earlier DVD boxset's or simply on google.
A bit of a rush job all round really but so what, stick the film on, The final cut is great, just a slightly expensive way to get the film in HD with the additional 'mark-up' tat that's included.

Most of the humanity in the film is shown by these replicants - most memorably by the two played by Rutger Hauer and Daryll Hannah. The "Final Cut" removes the annoying voice-over added to the original by the Studio who found it too complicated to follow because of the sparse dialogue and general gloom.

The Final Cut I didnt buy this, I just rented it on Amazon. This is the final word on the original Blade Runner film, which I remember seeing years ago the original cut, not this one.
I only really recalled two scenes. It's a bit slow and sometimes feels like a perfume commercial, especially the scene with the owl. But unlike other style over substance directors, Ridley does have time for human emotions and the people caught up in his plots.
Sean Young never bettered her performance here, and arguably maybe Hauer as well. I watched this as I have yet to see the sequel and wanted to refresh my memory.
